Our Mission: Justice Through Code equips justice-impacted talent with industry-aligned technical and professional skills to thrive in the AI economy, while building employer ecosystems for successful fair chance hiring at scale.

How We're Different: Developed and tested at Columbia University, Justice Through Code recognizes the talent justice-impacted individuals already possess and removes both skill and opportunity barriers, nurturing and honing that talent through leading academic training and creating employer ecosystems for career success at scale.

Fellows have gone on to land roles at companies like Amazon, Capital One, NBC, Disney, and Microsoft. When you give talented people access and support, they don't just succeed, they thrive.

Your Impact Starts Here: Whether you're a first-time volunteer or returning mentor, you'll find opportunities that match your expertise and schedule. All roles are virtual and fully supported by our team.

💼 Mentors

Be the Mentor You Wish You'd Had

Breaking into tech is hard. Navigating your first few years in the industry can feel even harder. Fellows are facing decisions about career paths, job searches, technical skills, and professional growth, and they need someone who's been there to help them see the way forward.

As a Mentor, you'll meet monthly with 1-2 Fellows throughout their AISE journey and beyond if you choose. You'll help them think through career decisions, review resumes, prep for interviews, and navigate the realities of working in tech. During your monthly video calls, you'll discuss career goals, challenges, and opportunities. You'll provide guidance on resume reviews, interview prep, and job search strategies. You'll share insights about your company, role, and career path, make introductions to your network when appropriate, and respond to occasional questions via Slack between calls.

This isn't about having all the answers. It's about showing up, listening, and helping Fellows figure out their own path. If you remember what it was like to be early in your career and wish someone had been there to guide you, this is your chance to be that person for someone else.
